Puck Goat Festival - No we did not plan our trip around this!
On our first day in Ireland, we were lucky enough to hear about the Puck Goat Festival, going on for more than 400 years, and
we decided to attend. This is an old pagan festival, where they put a goat up on a tall tower for 3 days to celebrate (what?).
Yes, if you click on pictures of the tower there is an old goat with horns up there. I suspect that they used to eat the goat after
the 3 days was up, but the locals said that they let it go back into the wild - yeah right.
We stopped at Killorglin on the Ring of Kerry drive to see the Puck Goat Fair and walked to the town center. Felicia went into
a pub at 10 in the morning and reported the floor is covered with sawdust and they guys inside (and some outside) were drunk already.

Local Animals
We saw quite a few deer in Killarney every night and morning, saw a few Scottish Cattle, did not see the Loch Ness Monster,
saw some goats, saw a few million sheep. Many of the sheep had racing stripes painted on their backs. We saw red, orange,
yellow, blue and green striped sheep. Some had 2 colors of stripes. The colored sheep were pretty, so after a while it was sort
of boring looking at a plain white sheep. Because there were often no fences between the sheep farms, I think the stripes were
like cattle brands in Texas, to help the farmers know what sheep belonged to who.

Edinburgh, Scotland
When we first flew into Scotland, we landed In Edinburgh. Felicia had rented an apartment in a nice part of town. The apartment was
Rarity Breaks. The owner was Maya, who sported a cool Mohawk, knee high military boots and tattoos. She owns 2 apartments in
Edinburgh that she rents out and she was very helpful at suggesting where to go to see castles, eat, listen to bagpipes, see museums
and try beers and scotch. Our first morning there, we went to see Edinburgh Castle, where we stayed for 3 hours. Very nice, probably
the top tourist attraction in Edinburgh and the best castle that we saw on this trip.
