We spent two nights in Te Anau in a very nice bed & breakfast call The Croft. It is run by Jane and Ross
McEwan. We really liked the company and the views and Jane let Kendra feed the sheep and put away
the hens at night. Te Anau was a very pretty town, the type we all decided we would like to live in

Kendra had a wonderful time feeding apples to Dolly the sheep. Two other sheep were named Him
and Her. Jane let Kendra run all through the pastures behind The Croft. I was wearing coats and
gloves, these girls did not even seem cold.
First stop from Te Anau to Milford Sound was at the Mirror Lakes - A duck was there making ripples in the water
Milford Sound is literally at the end of the road on the west coast of New Zealand. The mountains
come right down to the water and we took a Red Boat cruise out through the sound and into the
Tasman Sea. We saw beautiful mountains, several waterfalls, dense rain forests and several seals.
Rain there is over 250 inches a year.
Kendra got to drive the ship for about 5 minutes (Click for Video) - we looked back at the
wake and she was not going too straight.
Coming back from Milford Sound, we stopped at several places that we had not stopped at in the
morning. We stopped at the Chasm, a very deep waterfall and gorge just outside of Milford Sound.
Next stop was just outside of the Homer Tunnel to read about how hard it was to cut this tunnel
through the mountains.
